Abdoulaye Doucoure, the 23-year old midfielder from Ligue 1 side Rennes was signed today by Watford and immediately loaned out to Granada for six months.
Watford currently has a lot of foreign players in the Premier League team so they decided to loan Doucoure out for half of the year to a club that belongs to Watford owners. He has signed a four-and-a-half deal with Watford and will play for the Hornets soon.
Club CEO Scott Duxbury said: “The opportunity to sign Abdoulaye Doucouré now was one we wanted to act upon, given our long-standing interest in the player.
“He is very much part of Watford’s future plans, and in the time between now and pre-season he’ll be experiencing high-level competitive football in Spain.”
