Andrew Hudson has been reappointed as the Convenor of the National selection committee, whilst Haroon Lorgat as filled the vacant position of CEO CSA.
Hudson, alongside incumbent Shafiek Abrahams will be joined by new members, Protea coach Russell Domingo, Hussein Manack and Linda Zondi. Transformation Manager Max Jordaan and High Performance Manager Vincent Barnes retain their position in a non-voting capacity.
Gary Kirsten and Corrie van Zyl have both been removed from the panel as it enters a new era. A major issue for the selection panel has been the identifying of new talent, and as part of their mandate there will always be a selector on duty at all franchise matches in all competitions.
Haroon Lorgat has finally replaced Gerald Majola as the CEO of CSA after the position has been left vacant for over 8 months. Lorgat as former Chief Executive of the ICC has all the credentials and experience needed for the job at hand, and was offered the position after an extensive search. This appointment has ruffled a few feathers as Lorgat was often at loggerheads with the BCCI over various issues including the use of DRS and Future Tours programme.
How all these changes will affect CSA position in the cricketing world remains to be seen. Hopefully it will have a positive domino-effect on the teams they represent.
