Chelsea host West Bromwich Albion on Saturday as the Blues look to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Match Preview – Chelsea have only one absentee from their squad with Nathan Ake recovering from a hamstring injury. Diego Costa, Andre Schurrle, Cesc Fabregas and Ramires are all expected to be fit, having recovered from their injuries during the international break. West Brom will be without Jonas Olsson (Achilles) and Sebastien Pocognoli (hamstring), but Saido Berahino and Ben Foster are expected to have recovered from their injuries over the international break. Craig Gardner will also be available for selection for the Baggies having completed his suspension.
With Chelsea’s upcoming schedule of 8 matches in 24 days across all competitions Jose Mourinho may make a few changes to his usual line-up. Costa will retain his place upfront for the Blues and will be eager to add to his impressive goal tally. Ramires and Andre Schurrle having recovered from injury will be looking to gain some game time as well.
West Brom have had a difficult start to the season and are currently 12 places behind opponents Chelsea on the league table. The Baggies suffered a defeat at the hands of Newcastle in their previous match and will be looking to improve on their performance at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have managed only one win in their past five meetings with West Brom. The Blues will however be hoping to secure all three points against the Baggies and look to give their supporters something to cheer about, after Mourinho’s statement that the Chelsea fans are too quiet at home.
